"Revival of China-US Trade Sparks Growth in Cross-Border Logistics: Freight Forwarders Expect a Busy May"

Release time:

2025-05-14

As China and the US recently restarted high-level trade talks and reached a preliminary agreement to reduce tariff barriers, cross-border e-commerce and traditional export orders have shown clear recovery. According to China Customs data from early May, export values to the US increased by 8.7% month-on-month, with small home appliances, consumer electronics, and outdoor products performing particularly well.

At the same time, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced simplified clearance procedures for low-value goods (Section 321), which helps revive FBA first-mile shipping (Amazon’s logistics service) and direct warehouse delivery models.

Logistics experts stated: "Efficient and stable China-US special shipping routes have become key for foreign trade companies to rebuild supply chain flexibility. Freight forwarders with self-clearance capabilities and control over final delivery will gain more market advantages."

Looking at this opportunity, the industry widely predicts the second half of 2025 will open a new growth phase for cross-border logistics. The China-US special shipping route is regaining its position as one of the world’s most dynamic trade lanes.
