Global Logistics and E-commerce Updates: May 2025

1. Anjun Logistics Expands Coverage in Brazil  

On May 9, Anjun Express, the Brazilian branch of Anjun Logistics, completed preparations for its delivery network in six central and southwestern states and began full operations. The company uses a mixed network model in central Brazil, combining self-built AJD (Anjun Joint Delivery) with third-party DSP (Delivery Service Partners), while fully owning trunk lines, branch lines, and sorting centers. Multiple warehouses and local teams ensure service quality.  

With 16 states already operational, Anjun now covers 21 Brazilian states (90%+ of e-commerce parcels). Starting June 15, 2025, it will expand to five remaining states: AC, AM, AP, PA, and RR, achieving nationwide coverage.  

2. DHL Makes Second E-commerce Acquisition in 2025  

On May 9, DHL announced its acquisition of IDS Fulfillment to boost e-commerce services for U.S. small and medium-sized clients. The deal adds over 1.3 million square feet of warehouse and delivery space. IDS Fulfillment strengthens DHL’s global e-commerce solutions through local expertise.  

This is DHL’s second e-commerce acquisition in 2025. In January, it bought Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, a top reverse logistics provider for North American e-commerce retailers.  

3. Amazon Speeds Up Same-Day Delivery in Europe  

On May 9, at the "Future of Delivery" event in Dortmund, Germany, Amazon Europe executive Rocco Breinig announced plans to launch same-day delivery in 20 new European locations within 12 months. Cities include Augsburg (Germany), Metz (France), and Bergamo (Italy), expanding service coverage across multiple regions.  

4. TikTok Plans €1 Billion Data Center in Finland  

On May 9, TikTok opened its first Finnish office and launched the "Clover Project," a €1 billion data center in Kouvola. Local developer HyperCoOy will build the facility.  

5. Shopee Raises SPayLater Seller Fees  

On May 9, Shopee announced that starting May 8, 2025, sellers using SPayLater (buy-now-pay-later) will pay a 4.5% fee per order, up from 3.5%. The fee applies to all SPayLater payment plans. No reason was given for the increase.  

6. eBay UK Updates Shipping and Payment Policies  

On May 9, eBay UK improved its shipping services:  

- Added low-cost "0-2kg small parcel" option.  

- Partnered with Evri for pickup points, saving buyers 15% on shipping (sellers must enable Evri in account settings).  

- Faster payments: Tracked orders under £750 with positive reviews get instant payouts. Untracked orders under £10 also qualify.  

- Royal Mail rates for small/medium parcels stay unchanged until May 19, with new rates expected to save 20% on average.  

7. Mercado Libre Reports Strong Q1 2025 Results  

On May 9, Latin American e-commerce leader Mercado Libre posted Q1 2025 revenue of $5.9 billion, up 37% year-on-year (above the $5.5 billion forecast). GMV grew 17% to $13.3 billion, operating profit rose 45% to $760 million (12.9% margin), and net profit jumped 44% to $490 million (8.3% margin).  

8.Maersk Q1 Revenue Hits $13.3 Billion  

On May 9, Maersk reported Q1 2025 revenue of $13.3 billion, up 7.8%. Despite market challenges, it kept its 2025 financial outlook. Global container volume growth is revised to -1% to 4% due to economic and geopolitical risks. Red Sea disruptions are expected to last until late 2025.
